The Iron Giant is based on the story of Iron Man from 1968, authored by British master Ted Hughes. The film tells of a gigantic metal machine that came down from the sky and scared off in a small town in Maine in 1958 to find a friend named Hogarth who finally finds mankind and saves people from their fears and prejudices.
